Chief Executive Officer
Mark Freidberg is the Chief Executive Officer for Leading Edge, and over the past 20 years, he has held leadership roles in both domestic and global education companies. He also serves on the Board of Education for the Cold Spring Harbor School District.
He is passionate about ensuring that every student understands what they learn in order to develop a love for learning. In his role, Mark continously looks to improve the company’s operations, expertise and partnerships in order to deliver on Leading Edge’s mission.
Before joining Leading Edge, Mark led Embassy English, a global English language training business that served more than 10,000 students across five countries. Prior to joining Embassy English, he held a series of leadership roles at Kaplan Test Prep and in his last role, he led Kaplan’s College Prep business which focused on getting more than 50,000 students from a diverse set of backgrounds and schools into college.
Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia University and a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University.
Regional Director of NJ/PA/OH
Nicole Baur is the Regional Director of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ohio with 10+ years of management experience and 4+ years of multi-unit operational experience. Nicole is responsible for leading 50+ staff members at 22 schools in the region.
Prior to joining Leading Edge, Nicole held leadership positions in several growing companies, including Target and Wawa, where her fast-paced leadership style and focus on shifting business priorities made her successful.
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science in biology with a microbiology concentration from West Chester University.
In her current role, Nicole uses her prior leadership experience to support and challenge her staff to achieve operational excellence. She focuses on delivering outstanding service and support to the diverse families that utilize Leading Edge’s care.
Area Director, New England
Angelica Reyes is the Area Director of New England with 5 years of management experience and 16+ years of higher education experience. Angelica is responsible for leading 13+ staff members at 7 schools throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Prior to joining Leading Edge, Angelica held leadership positions in several growing companies, including Technical Career Institute and Bay State College, where her fast-paced leadership style and focus on shifting business priorities made her successful.
Angelica holds a Bachelor of Science in business management and an Associate of Occupational Studies with a paralegal concentration from Bay State College, Boston, MA & Interboro Institute, New York, NY.
Area Director, Colorado Schools
Dana Hill is the Area Director of the Colorado schools. Dana has worked in the early childhood education field since 1992. Dana’s years of experience include education management in both profit and nonprofit sectors.
Prior to joining Leading Edge, Dana worked for the largest early care and learning company in the United States. Her roles included School Director and District Quality Leader. Dana brings experience in leading teams to a high commitment of quality education and compliance. Dana has a strong passion for engagement with her team, parents, and school partners.
Dana holds a bachelor’s degree from William Woods University in Early Childhood Education and Business Administration.
Manager of Accounting & Finance
Chris Hui is the Manager of Accounting & Finance with five years’ experience in financial management, full cycle accounting and investment advisory.
Prior to joining Leading Edge, Chris worked as Director of Finance for a government subcontractor and as a licensed investment professional for Citizens Bank, even appearing in a commercial that aired throughout the northeast United States. Chris also has international teaching experience, having lived and taught in the Dominican Republic.
Chris is also a Board of Director for Halcyon Healing Center, a non-profit organization that uses alternative healing methods. Halcyon primarily focuses its resources on providing services to US Military veterans and their families.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in English Literature from Fitchburg State University.
Director of Operations Support
Arielle Romita is the Director of Operations Support with 5+ years of management experience. Arielle was previously the Senior Program Manager of New Jersey and Pennsylvania responsible for leading 45+ staff members at 12 schools as well as summer camp programs. Prior to joining Leading Edge, Arielle was a public school teacher and then held a leadership position at Primrose Schools.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Earth Science from Kean University. Arielle is certified to teach Preschool through Grade 3, Elementary School Grades K-6, and Supplemental Instruction: Reading and Mathematics, Grades K-8. She is also a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, National AfterSchool Association, and NJ Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
Customer Service Specialist
Londy Rodas has been a member of Leading Edge in Massachusetts as a Customer Service Specialist for 5 years. She acts as a liaison between customers and Leading Edge making sure that the lines of communication remain open.
Customer service is an integral part of Leading Edge’s customer value proposition. Implemented feedback loops allow us to capture feedback to improve customer service and ensure that quality and service exceed customer expectations.
With 15+ years of customer service experience, Londy strives to build trust and strong long-term relationships with Leading Edge customers. Her commitment and dedication to providing high level customer service is a pillar for Leading Edge Before & After School education.
Extended Day Coordinator
Laronna Hall is the Extended Day Coordinator of the EL Haynes campus, located in Washington, DC. Laronna has devoted more than 20 years in youth development and program management.
Prior to joining Leading Edge, Laronna orchestrated the growth of several non-profit advocacy organizations dedicated solely to promoting growth and educational equity in children and their families.
Currently, Laronna heads many efforts at Leading Edge, including the successful development and management of 16 plus employees and over 200 students.
Laronna holds a bachelor degree from Howard University in which she majored in Sociology and minored in Spanish. Laronna was the recipient of the “Outstanding Community Service” from the National Council of Negro Women – San Francisco Section in 2009, as well as the “Certificate of Honor” from the Board of Supervisors – City and County of San Francisco in 2010.
Senior Area Director, District of Columiba
Sharon Davis is a Senior Area Director for Leading Edge in the District of Columbia. She has an extensive background in operations and management.
In her current role, Sharon ensures that the mission and goals of Leading Edge are implemented with fidelity. She is dedicated to providing high-quality, enriching, and engaging extended-day programs for students.
Prior to joining Leading Edge, Sharon was a retail manager for JC Penny for 18 years. In this role she was responsible for managing a sales force of more than 50 employees with an annual sales volume of 4 million dollars.
Sharon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Director of Communications
Kerith McElroy is the Director of Communications for Leading Edge, where she helps develop and improve the platforms that connect our team with our partner schools and families. To this role, Kerith brings years of communication and content production experience across multiple platforms. This includes working for Woman’s Day magazine, Lifetime Television and Parents.com (the website for Parents magazine).
Kerith is passionate about education, having served on the PTA boards of her daughters’ preschool, elementary school and high school. She also serves as a volunteer board member of the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium, a non-profit educational center dedicated to educating visitors about the freshwater ecosystems of New York.
Kerith received a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and a Masters in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University.
